The electrostatics set “inclined plane” consists of a base frame with a tray for PVC pipes and 3 PVC pipes.
The tray is sloped, causing the PVC pipes to roll to the lowest point. However, if the PVC pipes are charged by friction, for example with a cotton cloth, then the PVC pipes repel each other. The first pipe rolls to the stop at the lowest point and the other two PVC pipes are repelled and roll upwards against gravity.
With the optionally available needle electrode, the PVC pipes can be easily discharged and roll back down.
